Kelly Lowe

I'm a wife, a mother of three children I school at home, and a former west coaster who now lives in western North Carolina. My roots are Irish, English, Welsh and Cherokee, so I fit right into these beautiful foothills.

I am also a writer. My journey from lost child to emerging butterfly is the subject of most of my poetry. It is, in fact, my therapy. Most of what I've written has been hidden away in the pages of journals or letters to friends, until recently, when I decided to stand down my fear of rejection and move out into the world of other writers. Writing requires being vulnerable; it is a teaching profession, and poets teach with the pictures they paint of their lives. I knew it was time to stop hoarding my pictures.

As is fitting for a Celtic girl, I blow a pennywhistle. I also play the piano and accordian, as well as sing and write songs, when I have a few moments to myself. We are a family of musicians, so much of our free time is taken up with songmaking.

Before now, I confined my work to paper and pen; this is my first venture into online publishing. May my offering have wings! It is my gift, poured out by the Giver and overflowing onto you. I hope you swim in it and find delight.
